"Hand in Hand Sweden's vision is a world where every person has the power and ability to lift themselves out of poverty and where future generations can develop and contribute to a sustainable future. Our long-term goal is to help create 10 million jobs and thus contribute to 50 million people being able to lift themselves out of poverty."

Axjo Group's cooperation with Hand in Hand, as one of several main partners in a project, has the following vision, goals and target groups:

VISION
The project contributes to better waste management to achieve healthy, sustainable communities and a cleaner environment at local level through "green jobs" and circular economy.

GOALS
Sustainable waste management and circular economy along the Kenyan coastline with a focus on Mombasa and Kilifi County.

TARGET GROUPS
In total, the project will reach 6,600 people divided into:
Bottom of the pyramid; 6,000 people of which 40% are young, 80% women and 20% men. The training will focus on entrepreneurship in recycling and waste management. 

Accelerators: 600 existing entrepreneurs with waste management businesses. 

Our partnership will contribute to: 

• More circular economy businesses created and strengthened
• Actions that strengthen the three basic principles of the circular economy - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
• Increased knowledge about the impact of waste on the local environment and human health.
  

The project is expected to start in October 2023 and runs for three years.
