Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventative systems and processes to support the company’s goals and objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Creates and utilizes Preventative Maintenance system, including performing preventative maintenance procedures and updating PM system with completed work.
• Plans and makes corrective actions on assigned equipment, schedules routines for inspections.
• Work with other team members to fine tune equipment and improve efficiencies/reliability.
• Changes blades, filters and maintains compounder and grinder.
• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and manuals, use a variety of hand and power tools including electrical meters.
• Maintains spare parts inventory on assigned equipment.
• Assists with installation of new machines and other equipment.
• Deals appropriately with faulty equipment, human error and preventing defects from occurring.
• May be required to become certified and operate a variety of forklifts.
• Attends and participates in various meetings with employees and management.
Physical Demands/Requirements
• Must be able to stand, stoop, reach, grasp, sit or stand for long periods of time, and lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs. safely.
• Noise level in materials area at times can be loud.
• Must be willing and able to abide by all safety policies.
• Full-time day shift, overtime as needed. Possible weekend/holiday work.
• Non-climate-controlled plant environment; standard hazards within a manufacturing plant where safety precautions and personal protective equipment must be maintained at all times.
Requirements
• 2 or more years of experience as a technician, injection molding experience.
• Judgment and decision-making skills, time management, critical thinking.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college level course work or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Strong math skills, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aptitude.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
